BfUboot

intro

these are my notes from playing with the BF537 EZKIT LITE. Mostly this is for me to remember what I had to do to get U-Boot up and running (see the docs - they are very good but you may have to hunt around a bit)

gotchas

  • Boot device selector should be set to 0 - Execute from 16-bit external memory
    • This is where uboot is stored and thus that is where the bf should look for the bootloader
  • Be sure that JP9 is not jumpered (DB9 loopback jumper)
  • Be sure that SW4 is all ON
  • See BfJtag for jtag setup
  • Communication settings for uboot are 57600 8N1 and no HW/SW flow control

notes

  • see the docs for more details
  • see #blackfin on irc.freenode.net for me

setenv bootargs root=/dev/mtdblck0 rw ip=192.168.4.81:192.168.4.102:192.168.4.5:255.255.255.0:BF537:eth0:off
