Pictured here is my BF1 before testing. Most of the connectors aren't placed because they are easy to put on and hard to take off. I want to run the board through some testing before I commit to the final parts.
The Blackfin One is an open design project based on the Blackfin BF532 DSP. The design includes Flash, 32MB Ram, RS232, USB host/device controller, dual ethernet, and an SD socket. There are expansion ports for such addons as a telephony card for use with ucAsterisk. The expansion buses include Timers, SPI, both SPORTs, EBIU, and the PPI.
As most worthwhile Blackfin systems it is designed to run uClinux and uses the Das U-boot bootloader. Both uboot and uclinux have successfully been run on the Blackfin One board.
I have recently (Thanksgiving 2006) joined the BF1 team and will be documenting the project over the coming months. The board currently exists only as an open design. To get a BF1 board you must have the boards fabricated, order parts, and assemble or have the boards assembled.
PCB Bugs
Please see the list of known issues with the
v2.0.0 PCB. Check your PCB carefully for this defects and correct them before you begin assembly!
Note to me: Change SD SSEL back to 1 from 2 when you want to use it
BOM
This section provides a costed Bill of Materials with vendors and vendor part numbers for the components needed to build the BF1.
- BlackfinOneBom - These are the parts that I ordered, not all of them are ideal...
Temp Docs
When I can't access the bf1 wiki i'll post docs here until i can move them over there
Expansion Cards
I have some ideas for expansion cards, as they develop I will document them.
